KUALA LUMPUR – The multi-platform digital and creative experience of KL Converge makes its annual event this weekend of 27th to 29th August 2015, at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The 3-days KL Converge conference was full of exciting seminars and workshops varying from photography, music, Internet, film and even application development.
The conference even included highlights from celebrities like Joe Flizzow, famous Malaysian rapper-songwriter; Ming Thing, Youtube sensation famous for their short videos; award-winning photographer, Zung; and videographer Gary.
With different types of innovative speakers and discussions, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s halls were constantly filled with eager minds.
Students ranged from broadcasting majors to business majors to IT majors, all with a variety of rooms and interests for anyone to enter of any level in the workforce.
One of the highlights of the conference was the seminar of Zung, the photographer whose inspirational speech regarding how he got into the industry grabbed the attention of those who attended.
“I started off as a wedding photographer to fund my freelance photography business,” said Zung.
“It was worth it – if I didn’t begin like that I don’t think I would’ve been where I am right now,” he continued while displaying slideshows of his stunning rare pictures of landscapes, and famous people like Gandhi and Donald Trump.
After opening the questions to the floor, many questions were directed about if he regretted anything in his life.
“To pursue anything in life including your passion, you will definitely have to start from somewhere small, and it may include not doing what you set out to do in the first place but it’s always worth it,” concluded Zung.
Another highlight of the event was videographer Gary, who was very hands-on and interactive with the audience.
Gary showed the mistakes of the filmmaking world and taught the audience ways to boost up image and how to make videos smoother and better with more impact and a better storyline.
“I’ve been following him on Youtube for some time and I couldn’t resist the chance when I found out he was going to have a session,” said Wendy Opabola, 22, Nigerian student from UCSI University.
“My major has nothing to do with videos – I’m actually majoring in Business and I’m more interested in finance, but I’m such a huge fan.”
KL Converge was sponsored by many brands such as Axiata, Astro, RTM, Media Prima, Maxis and Digi with TM Net as the official broadband organizer.
This was Malaysia’s biggest collaboration with the 26th annual ASEAN summit that also took place this year.
